About us

Solid wood doors are a specialty of Palmiye Wood Decoration, a woodworking company based in Istanbul. On this site we focus on doors cut and assembled from solid timber, the kind of door that feels heavy in the hand and shows the real structure of the wood on every face.

Working with solid timber means respecting how it moves. We select boards for straight grain and consistent colour, let them settle before machining, and use joinery and construction methods that keep a leaf stable through seasonal changes in humidity. Oak, walnut, ash and iroko are common choices, and other species can be supplied on request. Finishes range from clear oil that deepens the grain to stains and protective lacquers.

Design follows the house. A countryside villa may call for raised and fielded panels, a city apartment for a plain solid face with a slim shadow gap, and an entrance hall for a pair of tall doors with glazing. When several doors stand side by side, we match the tone of the timber from door to door.

The work is organised around a site survey, manufacture in our own workshop and installation by our own team, including frames, architraves and hardware. Larger orders can start with a sample door, and finished doors can be packed for export. Send us your opening sizes, a few photos of the space and your preferred timber, and we will prepare a proposal.
